ABS is a combination of acrylontrile, butadiene and styrene and is recognised by professional model makers as the best all round plastic: Easy to cut, drill, saw and paint (it even takes cellulose). Very easy to stick using solvent cements (like PPC-2) by itself or in a combination with other normal plastics, i.e acrylics, styrene, perspex and butyrate etc. Also ideal for vac forming. This material is extruded, with a semi-matt finish. A real pleasure to work with, will not split or shatter.
